            Core Privacy Guarantee: Sol operates under a strict principle of Radical Data Sovereignty. 100% of your diary reflections, conversational chapters, and AI memory models execute directly on your phone hardware. Zero personal data or thoughts leave your device.
        

1. Zero Cloud Data Collection

Sol is designed with an offline-first, private-by-default architecture:

Local AI Inference: All conversational intelligence (Gemma) and semantic memory retrieval (EmbeddingGemma) run on-device using Google LiteRT and hardware acceleration.
Zero Server Logging: We do not operate remote tracking servers. Your journal entries, tone preferences, session summaries, and insights are never uploaded to any cloud server or shared with third parties.
No Account Required: You do not need to register, provide an email address, or create an account to use Sol.

2. Permissions Used

Sol requests only the permissions necessary to provide its on-device functionality:

Audio Recording (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO): Used solely for speech-to-text dictation when you choose to dictate your entries. Audio is transcribed locally and is never uploaded.
Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver optional circadian reflection reminders generated locally by your device.
Google Play Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): Used securely through Google Play to unlock the optional "Sol Complete" lifetime license. Payment information is handled entirely by Google Play.

3. Local Storage & Complete Data Control

All application databases (chat logs, vector embeddings, and historical insights) reside exclusively within your device’s secure internal sandbox.

You have full ownership of your data at all times. Clearing application storage or uninstalling Sol permanently and irreversibly erases all local data from your device.

4. Children’s Privacy

Sol does not target or knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. The app is a self-contained productivity and journaling companion.
